Doncaster Rovers secured a commanding 5-0 victory over Glenavon at Mourneview Park, extending their perfect pre-season record to two wins from two.
The win came on the back of a 4-2 triumph over St Patrick's Athletic in Dublin on Tuesday. Manager Grant McCann used the fixture as an opportunity to rotate his squad, fielding separate teams for each half.
First-Half Dominance
Rovers dominated the opening period at Mourneview Park, establishing a 4-0 lead before half-time. Jamie Sterry and Bayley McCann both had early chances before Owen Bailey opened the scoring with a header on 15 minutes. Alfie May doubled the lead shortly after, with Leon Ayinde making it three. Harry Clifton completed the first-half onslaught with the fourth goal.
Second Half and Clean Sheet
Rovers maintained their control throughout the second half and secured a clean sheet. Tom Nixon added a fifth goal in the 67th minute with a striking finish to cap an impressive squad performance.
Final Tour Fixture
Rovers will complete their Irish tour with a final fixture against Linfield on Saturday 18 July at Windsor Park. Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm.
