Doncaster Rovers have completed an unbeaten Irish tour ahead of the new season, securing three wins and impressing assistant manager Cliff Byrne with the squad's performance during the demanding week.
The travelling party won against St Patrick's Athletic, Glenavon and Linfield, scoring 11 goals while conceding just two. The tour took place across Dublin and Belfast despite challenging weather conditions.
Squad integration and tactical work
Byrne highlighted the intensity of training throughout the week and praised how the tour helped build squad cohesion. Several new players were integrated into the group during the fixtures.
The assistant manager noted that pre-season games focus on establishing tactical foundations and the team's core principles, with the coaching staff now shifting focus to perfecting the playing style over the next 7–14 days.
