Doncaster Rovers manager Grant McCann has declared his side ready for the new season following a pre-season victory against Lincoln City on Saturday. Oscar Thorn scored in the second half to secure the win in what McCann described as an even contest.
McCann said he was pleased with aspects of the performance, though the team could improve their attacking pace. Striker Alfie May, returning from injury, played 70 minutes in the match, while midfielder James Husband was withdrawn early with a hamstring issue. McCann said it was too early to determine the severity of Husband's problem.
First Competitive Fixture
Doncaster Rovers face Stockport County in their first competitive fixture of the season in the Carabao Cup on Saturday 8 August at 3pm.
McCann also praised the work of the grounds team ahead of the campaign.
