A fundraiser has been launched ahead of a planned athlete visit to Holy Family Catholic Primary School in Doncaster.

Sports For Champions UK CIC says sprinter David Morgan-Harrison is due to visit on Thursday 19 November 2026 for a fitness circuit, an inspirational talk and a question-and-answer session.

The project's public fundraising page sets a £1,000 target and invites families, friends of the school and local businesses to support the event.

How the fundraising is allocated

The appeal supports both the school and the wider athlete programme, rather than directing every donation solely to school resources.

According to the organiser's published explanation, money first covers the costs of delivering the event. Surplus funds are then divided, with 60% allocated to the school and 40% to its athlete fund.

The organiser says the school can use its share for equipment and opportunities for pupils, while the athlete fund supports training and competition-related needs and access to events.

Finding out more

The visit is intended to give pupils an opportunity to take part in physical activity and hear about an athlete's experiences.

Anyone considering contributing can read the event details and the organiser's funding explanation on the project's Crowdfunder page.
