Doncaster Rovers have learned their group stage opponents for the EFL Trophy, with fixture dates now confirmed for the 2026 campaign.
Rovers were placed in Group H in the Northern Section of the draw, alongside Huddersfield Town, Rochdale and Liverpool U21s.
Group stage fixture dates
The club will play three group matches. Rovers face Huddersfield Town on Tuesday 8 September at 7pm at Club Doncaster Sports Village. They then host Liverpool U21s on Tuesday 6 October, also at 7pm at the same venue. The final group game sees Rovers travel to Rochdale on Tuesday 3 November at 7pm to face the home side at Crown Oil Arena.
Competition format
The top two teams from each group progress to the knockout stages. Fixtures remain regionalised until the quarter-finals stage. Matches that are level after 90 minutes go straight to penalties up to and including the semi-finals. The final will feature 30 minutes of extra time and, if necessary, a penalty shootout.
Knockout schedule
The Round of 32 takes place the week commencing 7 December. The Round of 16 follows in the week commencing 11 January, with quarter-finals scheduled for the week commencing 15 February. Semi-finals are set for the week commencing 8 March, and the final is fixed for Sunday 11 April.
