A Doncaster vehicle conversion business says it is preparing to restart work after suffering serious losses in the Cross Bank fire.
Royal Conversion, which designs and manufactures ice cream vans and mobile catering vehicles, plans to resume operations from its remaining units.
Director Antonio Solaro told Local Gazette on Saturday 17 October that the company was preparing to restart early in the coming week. No exact reopening date has been confirmed.
Preparing the remaining units
Solaro said the fire had caused losses including vehicles, tools and stock. The team has since moved equipment, reorganised working areas and prepared space so that interior work can continue.
Orders for replacement tools and materials are also being placed, with the aim of keeping customers' projects moving while the wider rebuilding work takes place.
The update follows Local Gazette's report on the large industrial fire at Cross Bank in Balby, published on 16 October.
Thanks for community support
Solaro said the business had received calls, messages and offers of help, as well as donations to its fundraiser. He said the company wanted to thank the community and explain how that support was helping its next steps.
He said Royal Conversion was “still here, still building and determined to move forward”.
