Doncaster Rovers defender Seán Grehan featured for 60 minutes as the club took on Wolverhampton Wanderers in a pre-season friendly at Club Doncaster Sports Village. Wolves proved too strong, winning 2-0 with late goals from Fer Lopez and Tawanda Chirewa.
Despite the result, Grehan felt positive about his own performance and the team's display. He praised the defensive work in the first half, particularly against opposition with significant possession.
Building fitness and team cohesion
Grehan highlighted the importance of pre-season football in building team cohesion and praised his teammates and the new signings at the club. Playing alongside experienced defenders Byrne and Sterry, he said he felt good on the pitch and is using the friendly matches to build his fitness ahead of the campaign.
Fixtures ahead
Rovers' final pre-season test comes at home to League One champions Lincoln City on Saturday 1 August, before a Carabao Cup tie at Stockport County the following week.
