Doncaster Rovers U18s concluded their first month of the season with a 5-0 victory against Chesterfield at Cantley Park in the Youth Alliance League. Rovers dominated the match with three goals in the first half before adding two more after the break.

Ethan Hodgett opened the scoring on 11 minutes, heading in after a cross from Jonny Tomlinson on the right. Rovers doubled their lead ten minutes before half-time when Hodgett beat his marker on the left and delivered a cross that was turned into the net by a Chesterfield defender. Ashton Swales added a third on the stroke of half-time with a solo goal, driving inside his marker on the right before curling a finish into the bottom corner.

Second Half Dominance

Rovers were awarded a penalty on 51 minutes when Dylan Hartley was fouled in the area. Hartley's effort towards the bottom left corner was saved by Moore in the Chesterfield net.

Josh Butler scored a fourth just before the hour mark, working space in the area before curling a right-footed effort into the top right corner. Lucas McKie completed the scoring on 82 minutes, timing his run to perfection before slotting past the goalkeeper one-on-one.

Lead professional development coach Ryan Cresswell made one change from the previous week's match against Grimsby Town, bringing Ashton Swales back into the side after he had been named on the bench for the first team in midweek.
