Doncaster Rovers will face Lincoln City in their final pre-season fixture before the competitive season begins, manager Grant McCann has confirmed. The match takes place at Club Doncaster Sports Village on Saturday 1 August at 3pm.
Lincoln City, who won League One last season with 103 points, will provide a stern test for Rovers ahead of their Carabao Cup debut at Stockport County the following week. McCann described the newly promoted Championship side as "the best team in League One by a country mile," noting their dominance in the third tier.
Pre-season form and squad news
Rovers head into the Lincoln City match with three wins and two draws from their six pre-season fixtures so far. Their recent outing against Wolverhampton Wanderers ended in a narrow defeat.
McCann confirmed that forwards Alfie May and Matty Pearson will be available for Saturday after precautionary absences in recent games. Midfielder Robbie Gotts is set to be sidelined for a few weeks.
