Doncaster Rovers' head of medical Dave Rennie has expressed satisfaction with the squad's physical condition as the club prepares for its League One campaign following promotion. Players returned to training at Cantley Park at the end of June, and Rennie noted that both returning players and summer signings James Husband and Alfie May have arrived in good shape.
Building Match Fitness
The club has added extra fixtures to the pre-season schedule to build match fitness ahead of the opening day trip to Mansfield Town. Rennie stressed that adequate game minutes are crucial preparation that cannot be replicated in training. The squad has remained largely injury-free during the early stages of pre-season.
Ready for the Season Ahead
Despite being back on the training pitch for only a couple of weeks, Rennie has expressed confidence the team will be ready for the new season.
